One of the advantages and added value that is possible for a company in steel chain operations is converting rock into balls and converting balls into sponge iron and selling it. Fortunately, this process was re-established in the Commercial Unit in 2017, and in this way, the majority of the purchased scrap was converted into sponge iron and sold, and a small percentage of it was also sold directly. In 2018, the purchase and sale of pellets continued, and 323,728 tons of pellets were purchased and sold from various producers, the largest portion of which was purchased and sold by the Iranian Sirjan Steel Company. In 2019 and 2020, by converting iron ore into pellets, this unit was able to supply and sell 326,551 tons of pellets.
